Blessed are Those....

This morning I woke up with these kinds of thoughts in my head...

  • What have I ever achieved in life that is useful?
  • I constantly fail in a particular area, I'm a failure
  • Of what value am I or have I being to anyone?
  • Does anyone even care?
  • Why would the Lord even bother with me?
You know, the usual run of the mill emotional thoughts that try to influence and destroy your day and your witness in life.

A little while later I went and had a quiet time in the Word, and I asked the Lord to show me the truth of who I am.  Show me the truth over my emotional thoughts.  And this is what I read...

Rev 19 v 9:  And the angel said to me, "write this:  Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb."  And he said to me, "These are the true words of God."

Did you read that?
Did you see what the Word says?

If you are born again, saved by the blood of the Lamb, you have been invited to the the marriage supper of the Lamb.  You have been invited into His presence, you are worthy because of Him.  If you are born again, you have been chosen by Jesus for salvation and you are blessed.  That scripture follows with, "THESE ARE THE TRUE WORDS OF GOD!"  Can God be more clear than that?

My emotions aside, my failures and lack of impact in life aside, I am worthy!  I am blessed!  I am invited to the marriage of the Lamb!  Because of Christ!  Because He chose to save me - and you!

Don't ever forget your value in Christ and don't ever forget that the Word says YOU ARE BLESSED!

God bless

  1. Tracy, this reminds me of 1 Peter 2:9-10, "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. In the past, you were not a people, but now are God’s people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy."

    1. Hi there, yes, and now we obtain mercy! I am so grateful. To imagine my life without the Lord is too horrible to entertain.

Are you Afraid?

We often read that scripture in 2 Chronicles when we feel helpless and in need of encouragement.  It says in 2 Chron 20 vs 17:   you will not need to fight in this battle, but stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.  Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. I read this chapter this morning as part of my quiet time and the verse that got me was vs 12 :  "O God, will You not execute judgement on them?  For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us.  We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You " .  It completely spoke into my heart about how I feel right now - powerless !  Powerless in the face of the worldwide virus issue.  Powerless in the face of the vaccination dilemma.  Just plain powerless.  Seriously, what can I do?  What can little me do?   But the verse does not stop there!  No!  It ends in faith!  Jehoshaphat heard ( vs 2 ) about these armies coming against him.  He was afraid ( vs 3(a) :  T

Don't let it happen!

I think the thing that has frustrated me the most over the past year and a bit, is how what is going on in the world is causing us to turn on one another!  It is why I have deleted my social media on and off!  It is why I have had moments of anxiety where before I had none!  It is why I find "lock-down mentality" comforting.  If I don't need to engage with people then I can stay relatively calm and unaffected!  Right?  No, very wrong! How can we be of any use to Jesus if we hide out in our homes?  How can I relate to people in such a way that they feel seen, heard, understood, if we don't make the effort to break loose from this "thing" that has been foisted on us? Truth be told I enjoyed lockdown.  I'm a homebody and I enjoyed not having the responsibility of going anywhere.  But, it is a responsibility !  Relating to people is required of us as Christians.  I have allowed this time to lock myself down too much.   Now that we have more freedom of movem

What Type of Christian am I?

Over the last year or so, I have been discovering a whole host of other pastors, teachers, of the Word.  They are not those well known, much quoted, very "with it" preachers.  Truth be told, over the last few years I have become very aggravated at being "entertained" in church, or a hyped up service or podcast delivery.  It just feels so.... shallow? Now, I am not going to criticize anyone here.  There are many TV preachers who helped me hold my life together back in the day.  But I am so hungry for deeper stuff.  For understanding the Word, not just reading it, and maybe have another person's opinion of what that Word means, thrust upon me.  I want to KNOW what it means, I want the KNOW the Word way better than I do, so that I will not be led astray.  So that I will not be fooled.  So that I will not be hoodwinked.   There are so many out there who are just a little off-centre.  And if you are honest with yourself, you will acknowledge that off-centre, however
